Terms of Use
Last updated:
These terms cover the Calibrate iPhone app and this website. Calibrate is provided by Parra ("we", "us"), the developer listed on the App Store. By downloading or using Calibrate, you agree to them.
1. Apple's standard license agreement
The Calibrate app is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add to the Standard EULA. If the two conflict, the Standard EULA controls.
2. What Calibrate is, and is not
Calibrate is a personal record-keeping app for lawful firearm owners. It keeps a log of practice sessions and drills, round counts, maintenance tasks and service history, ammunition on hand, NFA paperwork details, and related documents, on your own iPhone. It is rated 17+.
Calibrate does not sell, buy, transfer, or broker firearms, ammunition, or accessories, and it has no marketplace or listings. Do not use it to arrange the sale or transfer of firearms or ammunition.
3. Safety, maintenance, and the law
- Calibrate is not a safety device or a substitute for training. Always follow the fundamental rules of firearm safety. Dry-fire drills are for a verified unloaded firearm, with no ammunition in the room.
- Maintenance intervals are general guidance. The suggested schedules in Calibrate are starting points, not manufacturer specifications. Follow your manufacturer's instructions and a qualified gunsmith's advice. A task showing as done, or a reminder that did not arrive, does not mean a firearm is safe to use.
- Not legal advice. You are responsible for complying with all federal, state, and local laws that apply to you, including laws on ownership, storage, transport, and National Firearms Act (NFA) items. A record in Calibrate is not a substitute for your official paperwork, such as approved ATF forms and tax stamps. Keep the originals.
- Your scores are your own records. Drill results and classifier entries you log are not official scores or classifications from any shooting organization.
- No affiliation. Calibrate is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge, the NRA, or any firearm, optic, or ammunition maker. Their names appear only to identify forms, drills, divisions, and the equipment you own, and their trademarks belong to their owners.
4. Subscriptions and purchases
Calibrate is free to download and use for up to 2 firearms, 5 drills, and 20 service records per firearm, with no time limit. Calibrate Pro removes those limits and adds the features described in the app. It is an auto-renewing annual subscription, currently $19.99 per year in the United States. The App Store shows the price in your country and currency before you buy.
- Free trial. New subscribers may be eligible for a 7-day free trial. The App Store shows whether you are eligible before you confirm. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
- Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically each year unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel the subscription in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. See Apple's instructions.
- Restoring. Use Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases in the app to restore Pro on a device signed in to the same Apple Account.
- Refunds. Apple handles all billing and refunds. See how to request a refund from Apple.
- Price changes. If the price changes, Apple notifies you as its rules require before the new price applies.
5. Your data
Your records are stored on your device. We do not keep a copy, so we cannot recover data you lose. You are responsible for your own backups; Settings → Data → Export backup saves a file you can keep. Encrypted fields (serial numbers, NFA tax-stamp numbers, and vault documents) depend on a key in your iPhone's keychain and may not be readable if you restore a backup on a different device. How we handle the little data that does leave your device is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
Use Calibrate only for lawful purposes. Do not misuse the feedback forms or this website, for example by sending spam or automated submissions, or try to disrupt them.
7. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Calibrate without any obligation to you.
8. No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calibrate is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of reminders, calculations, or exports.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from the handling, maintenance, storage, transport, or use of any firearm, or from relying on records, reminders, or exports in Calibrate. Our total liability for any claim relating to Calibrate is limited to the amount you paid for Calibrate in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Calibrate after a change means you accept the updated terms.
